Hi everyone

I have a problem with my PC.

My MB is an Asus RoG Strix B360-H and i have 2 ram (2 x 8 corsair vengance lpx 2400)

After upgrade my processor from a i5 8500 to a i7 8700 the dual channel stop work, my mobo don't boot.

Only if i put the ram's together works.

if i put the ram in alternated sockets the mobo stop in the orange led.

some tests that i make in my pc.

with xmp profile active
-1 ram boot - work
-2 rams together- work
-3 two ram alternated- don't work

without xmp profile active
-1 ram boot - work
-2 rams together- work
-3 two ram alternated- don't work.

Any suggestion? Thanks

Solution
Hi guys, I was finally able to fix my problem with the dual channel.
Remove the battery from the MOBO, and remove the CPU, then put everything in its place, and it worked.

Now I am testing to make sure everything works correctly.

Thank you all.
Since RAMs kit worked fine with the old processor, I'd blame the new CPU. However, I would firstly remove the CPU and check the CPU socket for bent pins.
You can also try updating the board's BIOS, if newer version available.

Thanks, i will check the CPU Socket for bent pins, My BIOS is updated to the the last version.

1. The most likely problem is a bent socket pin.
It is easy to do.
If you can not visually see a bent pin, try installing your old 8500 and see if it works properly.
If it no longer works, there is probably a bent pin in the socket.

2. A much more remote possibility is a defective 8700. I have seen a defective intel processor only once.
If reinstalling the 8500 works, you could have a defective 8700. It should still be under warranty.

A caveat:
The cpu socket is designed for only up to 15 insertions.
