Question Dual Channel not working.

I'm trying to install ram but keep getting an orange light. I've installed them in the recommended slots from the motherboard manual a2 and b2 for dual channel but no go.
If I switch to a1 and b1 slots it boots up. Same with a1 a2 and b1 b2.

I'm running the ram at a stock 2133 until I can get the problem fixed.

Motherboard : ASUS Rog Strix Z370-E
Ram : EVGA SuperSC 3000mhz ram 8gb x 2

Take 1 stick and run it through each slot and see if the PC posts. Take note of which ones do/don't.
Do the same with the other.
Which slots don't work? Or perhaps one of the sticks is defective?
