Question Dual Channel RAM not working on Gigabyte Z97P-D3 motherboard ?

I have upgraded my H81 mobo to a Gigabyte Z97P-D3 board. When I install both identical sticks of 8GB RAM the PC won't post. Either stick will work in any of the slots but as soon as I put both sticks in, the PC keeps trying to start then stopping and retrying every few seconds ?

Check your cpu socket closely for a bent pin.
One common symptom is ram issues such as no dual channel operation.
