(Sorry, title should read QUAD core) :)

I currently have an Athlon Dual Core 64 6000+ and want to get an AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition so I have to replace my mobo and that got me to thinking about improving my gaming rig.

Are there any ASUS mobo's out there that can take two X4 940's for a total of eight cores? Chuck in DDR3 RAM, SLI for vid performance and you can consider it sold... :)

Cheers.

Ughh...I don't like your thinking shadragon much, here is my 2 cents (just my opinion, and I have been known to be wrong, but this time I don't think so.)

Quad core is already plenty for gaming. No reason at all to need more cores
DDR3 is barely, barely, and even only tiny barely better than DDR2

Motherboard with an nVidia chipset, especially for a Phenom...no, no, no, no and just plain no. Stick with an AMD chipset.

If you like nVidia cards, want a form of SLI on a Phenom II rig, get an X2 GPU.

I run SupCom currently and with 8 players on the 80KM maps it drags, freezes and lags. Whatever I can do to improve that, the better. Plus, all the FPS I run. :)
