Poking around online, I've came up with a fun Pc build design. Now before I get into the details, please don't go and complain how there's no point in dual cpus and games don't utilize all these cores. I play beamng drive and for ever car you spawn, it utilizes a core which easily translates to more cores = more cars (it utilizes as many as you can put out). My i3-4150 cant handle this well. I also do a lot of video editing, photoshop, and plan on expanding into more fields.
Now for details, my concept is based on buying 2x intel xeon x5650, 1366 dual socket motherboard, new psu, and a new case. Im basically designing a whole new build except that i'm transferring over my gtx 970. If everything goes well, I'll try and overclock the blck on the cpus to at least around 3.8ghz, if not more. If I can get all the parts together, itd' roughly be around $500. Now here's the part where everyone will say get an i7, but i want to try something different.
I have a few questions: Can you overclock the blck on any motherboard? If so, could any motherboard handle 2 cpus being overclocked? Is it even possible to get that high with 2? is it worth it?
If you agree with me, can you link me a dual socket motherboard that could handle this and give more advice? That'll be very helpful.
If you are against it, give me logical reasons why you oppose this. Just please don't all spam saying get an i7, be reasonable and helpful.
(also, if i go this route ill be gifting my old computer to my mother since it has everything still there except for a gfx card, which it doesn't need.
