Dual CPU - SLI

I've got a dual CPU workstation and a single GPU for some serious number crunching, I'm looking into expanding and the next logical step is to add a second GPU in SLI

However this leads to an interesting (well to me) question: pcie 1 & 3 go to CPU 1, with 5 & 7 going to CPU 2. So for max performance, is it better to have both cards on the same CPU or different ones? E.g 1 & 3, or 3 & 5?

Motherboard is ASUS Z10PE-d8ws supporting up to 4 way SLI

Manual has nothing to say about optimum slots for SLI, perhaps it makes no difference however as they use different CPUs I wouldn't expect that, might be wrong though

Hi, Azooth. Have you got the answer? I'm facing the same problem. I don't know how to select pci-e slots for Titan X SLI. My motherboard is also ASUS Z10PE-D8 WS.
