dual ethernet ports

its for cheap home server use, like it connected to a Switch, but also directly connected to NAS.

Or if you plug you PC into the net via ethernet but you also want a crossover network with your notebook

This is kind of a similiar question. I have a PS2 back in my room and the internet connection is on the other side of the house but within my wireless routers range. I was wondering if there is anyway to connect my pc to the wireless and then run an ethernet cable to my PS2 so I can play that online as well?

Sure, you can setup your PC as a bridge. Simply click on your first network connection, hold down CTRL, and click on the second network connection. Now right click those items and select "Bridge Connections".

Alternatively, you can right-click your wireless network connection and setup Internet Connection Sharing (ICS).
