Hi,

Would like to find out if I were to run 2 graphics card without sli on non-SLI motherboard, is this ok ?
What are the benefits and is it worth investing ?

Graphics card is gtx 1080 which is old by today's gaming standards, its a company pc. Thinking of getting another identical /another one graphics card ( think it doesn't matter if identical?) for rendering some 3D models as well as do other stuffs.

That depends on the software you are using.

You don't need SLI for sending CUDA jobs to various Nvidia GPUs, so that part is fine.

GTX1080 is actually kind of small compared to recent models when it comes to compute. Depends on what you are willing to pay, but I would just swap in something newer.

GTX 1080 = 2560 Cores
RTX 2070 Super = 2560 Cores
RTX 3050 = 2560 Cores
RTX 3060 12GB = 3584 Cores (More VRAM)
3060 Ti = 4864 Cores (Roughly Double)
3070 = 5888 Cores (Roughly Double)
3070 Ti = 6144 Cores
4070 Ti 12GB= 7680 Cores
3080 10GB = 8704 Cores
3080 12GB = 8960 Cores
4080 16GB = 9728 Cores
3080 Ti 12GB= 10240 Cores (4 times)
3090 24GB = 10496 Cores (4 Times)
3090 Ti 24GB = 10752 Cores (4 Times)
4090 24GB = 16384 Cores (6 Times)
