Hi, so recently i bought my new "gaming " laptop and I have problem with games...
so the laptop is HP Omen 17-w012ng and I play Battalion 1944, when i setup in nvidia to run games on high performancce and with my nvidia gpu it just doesent work, i also tried disabling my integrated graphics but my fps isn't as high as it was. So some times i got into game idk why exactly it worked since i repeated same steps but my fps was always above 150 and yesterday and today as i try to join fps is either around 30- 60 and as i disable integrated in device manager its like barely climbing to 70... i know im not the clearest but i don't really know how to explain the problem.. :D

Solution
You're up to 80% RAM capacity. At that point Windows will start using the page file which can impact performance. Try closing as many programs as you can and then seeing if performance improves. It will also free up CPU resources as well.

Also ensure that the laptop is on a flat surface. If it's on a pillow or something it will overheat which in turn causes slowdowns.

In your nVIDIA control panel, where you select which program runs on GPU or CPU, do you have Battlefield selected to run using the GPU?

Don't disable your integrated graphics and only use your GPU for everything as that will slash your battery life. The way gaming laptops works is the OS determine which applications use the GPU and which use the integrated graphics. It only should use the GPU when the GPU is needed.

If you can, go to:

Windows key -> Dxdiag -> enter

go to display tabs, screenshot them, and show us what it says in them?

Both GPU, iGPU, display drivers, and DirectX are working properly so if nVIDIA control panel is configured correctly to use the graphics card for the game (or all applications), it should send rendering work to the graphics card. You can check by loading a game and checking your GPU usage in task manager.

yup usage is 100% of 950M... and cpu was like 30, just set it up to run with integrated graphics and it still say its used 95 - 100% of 950M but using only 20 percent of cpu, now that im thinking issue might be CPU ...

So the hardware and driver work correctly and the card is being fully used. The CPU is fine too unless it stays that low on more CPU intensive games like GTA5 or a CPU stress test such as OCCT.

This seems like a nVIDIA settings issue or an issue with the game settings for that particular game.

If your Windows power plan is not set to high performance then I would try that as well. Also try playing with the power adapter connected. Sometimes laptop models with reduce power when running on the battery.
