Hello,
I am planning on upgrading my home PC to dual 17" flat panels as I have been spoiled by my dual 19" CRT setup at work. I mostly use my home PC for work (professional PCB design) so I need a high resolution and fine dot pitch. However, I occasionally play games too, so I would like a display with a fast response time. I am looking to spend around $500 a piece for each of them. I have been looking at the samsung 172x, hitachi CML174SXWB, and the SGI 1600SW. The SGI display is old and no longer available new, and with multilink adapter costs about as much as the samsung. However its a very cool display!! Anyways, I was just curious if anyone had any thoughts or recomendations. Is there a monitor that I should be looking at besides the ones listed here. Am I stupid to spend $500 on a monitor that is 3-4 years old? I have never owned an LCd display before, so I'm not quite sure what to expect or be looking for, but I haven;t the room for dual CRT's at home.
Thanks,
Rob
