Dual Layer CD's?

Hey guys I was hoping someone here could help me out. I received a new game today in the mail (Batman: Arkham City) for my computer. I am one of those guys addicted to achievements so I got the Game of the Year Edition and they only made it in foreign media. I have done things like this before and they usually work fine.

However upon placing the DVD into my disc drive it sounds like it spins the DVD maybe a half of a revolution then it makes a skipping or clicking noise. I already researched this myself and figured out it could be because these DVD's are dual layer. Also ALL other DVD's work perfectly fine in the disc drive. After reading about it elsewhere I compared these DVD's to others that I know work fine. It is difficult to tell but it definitely does look like there is a second layer there or something, making the DVD slightly thicker.

So my question is, does anyone else know what to do here? I have been looking on Newegg for the DVD DL drives but after I click the filter nothing comes up. Can anyone please explain this to me? I really do not mind buying another drive for my computer to get this game downloaded. Especially if it will make certain that I do not run into this problem again down the road if I ever run into Double Layer DVD's again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That was going to be the next thing I took a look at. This particular game has three CD's with it and they are all doing the same thing when I put them into the optical drive. Anyway yes my next move was to check to see if I could find whether this drive supported or did not support these double layer CD's. I also know that Newegg recycles their links as well and changes the hardware there. However it looks exactly like the drive I have.

I cannot think of any other reason why these CD's would not work. I know that this game is rather large too. As it is also a Game of the Year Edition so I thought maybe that would explain why it is double layered. I still think it could be my problem, as I have no clue what else it could be.

Does anyone else have any clue what could be causing this? I ordered another copy of the same game and it is still doing the same thing. I found out that they are German Versions of the game. I changed the region of my disk drive to Germany (Region 2 I believe) and still not having any luck. Again they are making a clicking/skipping noise in the drive. There is no error message or anything displayed they just do that forever.

They do look slightly different from normal CD's as I already mentioned. I did not think that the region would matter anyway because I have bought other foreign games before. Unless I guess they were region free. I have also tried other disc drives in the house as well and I get the same result.

Is it possible that this could be a physical issue still? Like the laser eye not being able to read them because they are double layer or some other format where I would need a more sophisticated drive? For example, like needing a Blue-Ray drive or something? I would assume that I do not need a Blue-Ray drive for a game but just an example.
