Hi guys, I have an old X58 bios system that I use mainly. It has a GTX 1080 TI SC BE which luckly has a DVI-D port. My issue is that Nvidia's 10xx series and onwards don't support BIOS natively so you can only boot up with HDMI or DVI and not DP. I have a dell monitor thats 1440p and I'd love to be able to get a passive or non expensive active adpater that can feed it 1440p. At least for now till I hopefully upgrade my build down the road. Biderectional would be a cool perk.

Everything I've seen on Amazon caps out at 1920x1200

Funny enough the one DVI adapter i found was Dual Link DVI-I which supports it but not DVI-D, this makes no sense to me. An no I cannot plug in DVI-I to my DVI-D on the 1080 Ti

Solution
Dell U2515H. The monitor certainly supports 1440p but everything I see on Amazon when it comes to passive adapters say up to 1080p though
DVI-HDMI adapters are limited to 1080p when connecting from HDMI GPU to DVI display, but have the same capabilities as HDMI when connecting the other way around. If the monitors supports 1440p over HDMI then it will work. However, I think the U2515H is limited to 2048×1080 over HDMI if I recall correctly. You can also use an HDMI to DP active adapter although it is a bit more expensive.
If you're connecting from DVI on the graphics card to HDMI on the monitor, you can use any DVI to HDMI passive adapter, if the monitor supports 1440p over HDMI.

What model is the monitor?

Dell U2515H. The monitor certainly supports 1440p but everything I see on Amazon when it comes to passive adapters say up to 1080p though

That can't be true because I have plugged in HDMI to that monitor on my laptop and it does 1440p. I don't want to spend on an expense active adapter though if that what it requires. I need either a DVI-D to DP or DVI-D to HDMI passive if possible. If not, I ccan just grab a cheap passive one for 1080p and manage it till I upgrade my system to a modern UEFI build
