Hello everyone,

Currently I am using Dell u2412m with SAPPHIRE HD 7970 GHz. I am planning to buy a new monitor that works at 120Hz or higher for 3D bluray. However, 120Hz monitor requires dvi-d connection. Since u2412m doesn't have HDMI, it's connected to HD7970 through dvi-d. Thus the only dvi-d port of 7970 is occupied.
Luckily, I am using i7 3770k and Z77X-UD5H mobo, so I was wondering if this works:

Dell u2412m connected through dvi-d to mobo, works at 1920*1200 60hz
a new monitor connected through dvi-d to 7970, works at 120hz

Do I need to enable iGPU or install any software? What kind of settings do I need to let them work together?

Thanks !

Solution
You could connect the Dell u2412m with the display port connection, and then use the free dvi-d connection for the new 120hz monitor. Even then you could buy an active display port adapter to dvi-d. I have used this myself for eyefinity setups.
