Hi, im intending to get a 120hz monitor for dual screen as I have a 60hz monitor at the moment.
Will 2 monitors with different refresh rate work? Like will my graphics card produce only the lowest refresh rate which is 60hz for both screens or each screen will produce their own respective 120hz and 60hz refresh rates as I play fps games majority and would like an upgrade on monitor as my graphics card is zotac gtx 970

Solution
There will be no problem as long as you only have 2 monitors, personal i have 144Hz and a 60Hz. the 144Hz for gaming and 60Hz for chat, music and web of course.

And the monitors will still run by they own refresh rate yes, so the 120Hz monitor wont go down to 60Hz if that was a question. ;P

On the Windows desktop, each screen can run at its native resolution.
If you just have games on the 120 Hz screen, games can be displayed up to 120 FPS. If the monitor is g-sync capable, you can sync the refresh rate to the frame rate.
To actually run a game across multiple screens you need to use Nvidia surround, but I think this requires 3 screen rather than 2 and then you would be limited to the same resolution on each screen and displaying more than 60 FPS on the 60 Hz monitor could cause tearing.

Thank you so much for the reply!

Anytime enjoy the 120Hz!

But to point out what VincentP said, you can actually run games on dual monitors if you want, but thats with racer games, I only know that Grid Autosport support it as i have seen, where you have the car on the main monitor and leaderboard and timer on the second screen. But this is for Racer games of course.
