I'm rebuilding my gaming rig with a MSI R5850 Twin Frozr II Radeon HD 5850 Graphics Card (replacing an nVidia 8800GT KO). Also upgrading CPU and motherboard.

My question is this -
is there any benefit or even possible to keep the 8800 card as a secondary graphics card to run my 2nd monitor, i.e. the monitor for surfing, email, etc while the 5850 is used for gaming (primary monitor)??

the 5850 in question has only one DVI port along with a HMDI and displayport. Neither of my monitors are HMDI or displayport compatible, so if I use only the 5850 in the system, I assume I can use a displayport to DVI converter to run the 2nd monitor, correct?

Thanks in advance.

No :( Your 5850 should be fine for both though.
