Looking to run dual monitors on Msi motherboard. I will not be running a graphics card yet. I plan on purchasing a g1 windstorms 970 or 980. 1st question can I run dual monitors off the mobo? 2nd which ports are the best to use? 3rd do I need to purchase any extra cords?

My set up
4790k
Msi gaming 7
750d case
2 vg248qe asus monitors
2400 memory corsair vengence
850w psu 80+gold

Thanks

This platform does support dual (and tri) monitors. It depends on the resolution of the monitors, but you should be OK for most applications. Having two monitors will limit the performance you can expect when gaming. It doesn't matter which ports, although the HDMI cables are probably cheaper then displayport.

From the chart near the bottom, the best performance may be from mixing 1 HDMI and 1 Display port.
