I just got a r9 280x to crossfire with my r9 280. I now want to upgrade from my 21in VH226H monitor. I will either get another VH226H monitor or replace it with a single 1920x1200 25in monitor.

My main use will be gaming and I would like to know what the experience is like gaming with 2 monitors.
Is the split in the middle a big deal?

I will be playing a lot of GTA V and driving games as I just purchased a racing wheel. I already know I don't have enough desk space or graphics power for 3 monitors.

Thanks!

you cannot really play FPS games with 2 monitors. The split will be in the middle which is your main point of focus and target. It would be horrendous.

However, 3 monitors is marvellous as it is really immersive. Make the space!

I had 3 monitors with 7950 crossfire (similar to your R9-280) and it they had sufficient power to run at 30-60fps med-high settings on most recent games.

In fact, my single R9-290 has less performance than the 7950 crossfire had, and I still use 3 monitors. If you want to make it a little easier on the GPUs and take a little less space, get 16:10 monitors (1680x1050). Nearly the same vertical res as 1080, but less wide, which isn't an issue with 3 monitors. Plus they are very cheap as no one wants them second hand.
