Hello everybody,
I recently tried to add a second monitor to my setup; as soon as I fired it up though, I had framedrops, even in Windows. It's nothing too severe, but I am still kind of irritated.
One thing to notice is that I use a DP cable for my main monitor in order to make use of its 144 hz mode - is that in any way problematic?
Thanks in advance.

where do you get the drops. on your main monitor(144hz i assume) or only on the second one? if on the second, make sure the hz of it is a common multiple(in this case 72 or 144) of your main one. otherwise everything will stutter like hell.
if someone knows a better solution, spill it. this bugs me a long time now...

Both. Even when closing a usual window like the task manager, the animation stutters. I tried your solution and it didn't work at all. :(
Thanks for answering though!

Edit: Okay, I found something very interesting.
Whenever I start something on the second monitor, a lot of cpu is used (almost 50 %) by a task called 'Desktop Window Manager'. I am sure I didn't have a problem with this when I tried using two monitors with a better graphics card a few months ago.
