Dual Monitor Problem

Hey guys,
having a problem with using dual monitors, been working fine past year had this problem before but cant remember how i fixed it, main monitor im using Display port, 2nd DVI, problem im having is if i plug in DVI my DP monitor loses signal

ah okay managed to fix, turn PC turn both monitors off unplug pc/2 monitors from power strip, unplugged dvi leave dp cable in wait 20-30 seconds plug all back in switch pc/dp screen on logged in put dvi cable in lost signal on DP screen dvi screen showing desktop open display settings go down to Multiple Displays, click Duplicate wait for it to load keep changes then revert back to extend these displays ' worked for me hope it helps u guys
