Long story short i need a second monitor although the only output i have is
1x HDMI
1x Displayport
1x DVI

My Dvi port is being used to power my only monitor atm, i was wondering if i could do a DVI to either HDMI or Display port with a adapter and if it would work since the monitor only supports DVI cables.

Would it work with another monitor and would it dip my performance while gaming and having skype up on the other screen

Gpu is a GTX 960 4gb
I5-4460

Solution
Yes you can get DVI to HDMI/DP adapters. the great thing about Digital is they are all interchangeable with cheap adapters. The only thing you have to worry about is if you even run a AMD video card the 3+ Monitors MUST BE either Display Port or an ACTIVE display port adapter. As far as I know Nvidia doesn't have this issue.

Ahh i see! So it should work without a problem, my current monitor is plugged into de DVI port but apparently its a VGA when i check the port behind the screen!

Yea it just when you need to go to VGA that is an issue unless it is a DVI-I port which also has the single for a VGA and you just use the little adapters but if you need to go to HDMI/DP/DVI-D to VGA you need a convert box which will only gives you issues but if it is any DP/HDMI/DVI one any one to any one of those it is easy.
