Dual Monitor Resetting & Flashing upon shutdown/restart

Here's a good one. My problem is whenever I turn my computer off/on or restart, my dual monitor setup gets funky. I recently upgraded to the GeForce GTX 1050 from the GTX 580, and this is when the issue arose. On the GTX 580 I had the same monitor setup (but VGA instead of DisplayPort).

I have one monitor attached through the HDMI port, and other through the DisplayPort. After starting the computer with only the HDMI monitor attached, I log into Windows 10 and plug in the DisplayPort Monitor. At this point everything looks fine. When I shutdown and turn back on, or restart, the monitor attached to the DisplayPort is not receiving a signal and the HDMI monitor is flashing several times per second. Also, when this happens the mouse gets re-centered with each flash. I can shutdown by using the tab, arrow keys, and enter. Then, if I unplug the DisplayPort and turn back on, the HDMI monitor by itself is fine.

My motherboard is the P8Z68-V PRO with original BIOS. I thought about updating the BIOS, but perhaps that is overkill? Any ideas are appreciated!!

Thanks for the help!

SOLVED!! Previously I was using a cord that was Videocard <-- DisplayPort -- VGA --> Monitor. I ditched that and got a Videocard <-- DisplayPort -- HDMI --> Monitor. Now all is working as expected! I guess it was something to do with the VGA connection or the cord I was using, weird!

Yes, I did clean install... and just for the heck of it I power cycled my tower and monitors --How do I power cycle my computer?
Turn the switch off the back of the back of the Desktop. Turn the switch off where the computer is plugged in to. Hold down the power button on the front of the computer for 10 seconds.--, performed another clean install of the GeForce Drivers this morning.

Same result. Any other ideas?
