I have a dual monitor setup and while i'm playing a game in windowed borderless mode on the primary monitor, if i run let's say kmplayer or vlc on the second one and the focus is on the game window, there is a micro lag in the media player, but if i "alt tab" outside the game, the video plays normally.

Is there something I can do to make it work smoothly while ingame and playing a video?

Setup:
2 144ghz monitors:
Monitor 1: 144ghz ( plugged in with DP)
Monitor 2: 60ghz (i don't know why i can't make this one go to 144ghz, plugged in with HDMI)

Thank you

Perhaps you're asking a little too much from the system. Might I ask what resolution and content you're playing on the secondary display while gaming? What is the make and model of both monitors? Does your second monitor work on 144Hz if connected via DP?

On second thoughts, please list your specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

Include the version of your OS and the BIOS for your motherboard.

So both monitors are running on 1920x1080 and both are https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB241H-bmipr-1920x1080/dp/B01C05C1OK . I don't know if the second one works on 144hz if connected through DP coz i only have one DP port on the graphic card. Regarding the content from movies to anime in 1080p.

I think you're right with this. So i was playing pubg and i had a look on how much gpu was used and it was on 99% 😄 and then i switched to League of Legends which is far less resource consumer and the videos were playing ok. But I'm still wondering why can't I use the second monitor to 144hz. I do have a high quality HDMI cable.
