Question Dual monitor setup for desktop PC: how to allow sound on both?

Jul 6, 2020
Dear users,
I've spent hours for an answer to my question and can't find any solution.

I have built my own desktop PC (ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4, Windows 10) and attached two monitors (2xACERVG240Y), one HDMI to HDMI and one HDMI to DisplayPort (as my GPU only had 1 HDMI input).

When I go to the Sound control panel and choose either of the monitors > configure speakers, in this setup I can get sound from both monitors.

However, TDLR: I can't get music to play from both monitors at the same time.

What do I do?

(PS: For some reason, even though both monitors are the same, I get max option 75 Hz (expected) on one but only 60Hz on the other monitor... why?)
