Dual monitor setup issue

I'm trying to mirror two monitors to display the same image. The pc monitor #1 is connected using a DVI cable off the graphics card. I ran a 50' VGA cable to the other monitor.

For some reason, i can't get monitor #2 to display anything. its just blank. I've tried using VGA splitters with DVI ends but then monitor #1 goes blank and 2 displays the desktop screen.

I even tried connecting the VGA directly to the monitor itself, just to cover everything but no luck. Also, when i try to duplicate the displays, it gives me an error message that says "unable to save display settings".

I thought the graphics card had a HDMI input next to the DVI but when i went to install a HDMI to VGA adapter, the connector didn't fit. I've attached a picture of what i thought was the HDMI input.

Any ideas? Or does this graphics card need an upgrade?

Not sure why you're having so much trouble with the dual monitor issue, but that port looks like a DisplayPort connector. The most reliable way I've found to mirror monitors is to hook them both up to seperate video ports on the video card and use Windows to mirror them, as opposed to trying to use a splitter. What kind of connectors do your monitors have?

I just assumed it was an HDMI port at first glance. I honestly didn't even see the port clearly till i cleaned off all the dust that was stuffed in there, realizing it was a display port. I picked up a VGA to Display Port adapter and second monitor now works fine.

Thanks!!
