Dual monitor setup problems

[61 and having fun]

I am attempting to put dual monitors on my Dell Optiplex GX 620. I have a 19" Dell flat screen (FP 1905) attached now. The computer did not have a video card. The input was integrated on the motherboard.

I bought a Galaxy Geforce 210. PCI express. 1024 MB.

I connected by Dell monitor using the DVI cable to the new card.

I connected by 2nd monitor using the VGA cable to the new card.

I booted up the computer but neither monitor works. I receive the Dell box moving on the screen on my Dell monitor.

I disconnected the 2nd monitor and plugged the Dell monitor back into the integrated input and rebooted.

This time a message appeared saying that a video card was detected and I should reconnect the Dell monitor to the new video card and reboot.

When I did this again nothing but the Dell box moving around the screen appeared.

I called Dell and they told me that the card should work with my computer and to call Galaxy. Unfortunately they are only open Monday thru Friday.

I am running Window XP Professional.

Any help or advise you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
