I found an old monitor and want to hook it up to my computer. I have a geforce ft 730 and my primary monitor is using the vga port and the other monitor also uses vga. Could I use an adapter to use the hdmi or dvi-d port with this monitor? Could I use the integrated graphics with my cpu to hook it up to my motherboard and run dual monitors that way? I have an AMD FX 4350 cpu and an msi 760gma-p34 mobo.

Thanks

they need to both be hooked to the graphics card, so yes you will need a new adapter. on another note vga is all but phased out.... I would get 2 monitors that have hdmi and dvi hook ups so both monitors run at the same resolution.

These are the only monitors I have and I'm content with them. VGA is basically outdated by now but it's pretty much all I have. Is there no way at all to hook it up to my motherboard, because I've seen other people do it that way. I don't really want to go out and buy new monitors because they're rather pricey for a half-decent one. Could I pick up a VGA to DVI adapter?
Edit: or a VGA to HDMI for that matter.

you can get an adapter, but both have to be hooked to your video card, you cannot use a gpu and onboard graphics at the same time.

A buddy of mine actually had a vga to dvi adapter and when I hook it up, my computer doesn't detect the second monitor. Both are hooked up to the graphics card.
