Dual monitor showing same images

I have attached dual monitors to a Dell Optiplex 3010, the monitors are Dell P2213. I have tried one on vga and one on dvi,and tried changing it to dvi in menu settings, that did not resolve the issue. I have tried windows key + p, I've tried connecting the second monitor via usb and it continues to show the same thing on both screens. I do not have the extend option when I go into the display function, nor do I get the option when I right click on my desktop. Both monitors are showing up as Generic VGA monitors. HELP

I am not sure but are you doing extend or duplicate on windows+p. Make sure you are choosing extend

I can't get anything when I select Windows +p no dialogue box, no drop down menu, nothing.

The only reason I know of why it doesn't show extend is if the graphics driver isn't installed.
