Dual Monitor Windows 7 Nvidia Problem

I am running Windows 7 64 bit, with a Nvidia Quadro 400 graphics card. I have two monitors one DVI the other VGA. There are two ports on the computer; one vga and the other DVI (the dvi is directly connected to the graphics card).

Connecting both up to these two ports will only display one screen.at a time, with the vga attached screen having the preference of the two. I also have a DVI to DVI+VGA adapter, and have connected both screens to the graphics card via this adapter. But again only one display can be displayed at a time, with the vga having the preference.

trying the 'windows button + P' and setting it to 'extend' (or any of the settings) there is no response or change of any kind.

I have tried in both windows 'screen resolution' and the 'nvidia control panel' to detect both screens but only one is ever detected, never discovering the other screen. - What is curious is when Ii use the DVI to DVI+VGA adapter, if currently displaying only on the DCI screen (and the control panel showing that it can only see one monitor), pressing 'detect' other monitors it goes blank. then the VGA monitor will start to display (in my DVI screen resolution) and the DVI screen will remain black out, yet it will display that it can only detect one screen.

I am not sure what else to try, and would appreciate any help

Hi
Nvidia Quadro 400 is Pro CAD GPU - you must be able to manage the multy display settings even better.
As long i get here you run on Clone mode - is there Extend option ?
Also make sure you download the Correct drivers from NVIDIA
Also there should be some extra Desktop managmend Software equiped with this card - look on the manifacturer site ?
What is the BRAND of this Nvidia Quadro 400 ?

Hi appreciate the help
Well I have tried managing the displays with the windows 7 screen resolution, NVIDIA control panel, and the nView desktop manager. The two latter are only accessible when I used the graphics card directly through the DVI input, when only connected with just the vga through display port I cannot access these options.
I have tried to put the setup in the extend option using the windows+P command, and I believe it is in that setting but there is no effect, albeit I have not found this option in the nvidia software directly. I have tried looking at the mosaic option on the nVidia control panel but it only sees one screen.
I have installed what I believe to be the latest driver from the nvidia website, no improvement.
I will have a look for more management software but thought the above two would have been sufficient.
Sorry I do not believe I am as familiar as you with graphics cards, is Nvidia not the Brand of the card?

I have also looked in the BIOS setup as the computer boots up to check enable multiple displays

The NVIDIA is the manifacturer of the GPU chip
The Brand of the Videocard is the other Manifacturer that have used this chip to build the Videocard :
f.e. this could be PNY

Today i look at one HP NVS 300
- this one comes with specific DMS-59 - Y to 2xDVI-S adapter
- you cant put standart DVI cable to this one

Is you card have any DVI cable adapter in the box ?
I`m wondering is it not some strange adapter in the box .........

Hi, I believe it is the Dell. The Graphics card came with the computer (a Dell), and has a DVI port on the card itself. The cable and the monitor were both supplied with the computer, and work fine as stand alone. The DVI to DVI + VGA adapter is a personal one I have myself, it was not supplied, but it appears to work fine on each monitor separately through the DVI graphics card.

It seems as though this issue still hasn't been answered. I'd like to add my own problem (which sounds identical to the above).

I am running Windows 7, 64bit. I have an Nvidia Quadro 400 (I think) and I'm pretty sure it came with the PC. It has a single VHDCI output, which I have connected a VHDCI to 4x DISPLAYPORT adaptor. I have two monitors, the original Dell, and a new iiyama. The Dell has a displayport input, which is connected directly, but the iiyama does not, so I am using a Displayport to HDMI adapter cable. I have checked and updated all the latest drivers, both for Windows and Nvidia, and have tried everything mentioned in this thread so far... The PC is only detecting ONE SCREEN.

Incidentally if I turn the PC on with BOTH monitors on, only the DELL works, if I boot with only the iiyama on, then the iiyama does work. As soon as I turn on the Dell however, the iiyama goes black and displays "No signal detected"

My current option is to buy a new graphics card which i am quite reluctant to do as the Nvidia is supposed to be able to do this.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
