If I were to connect 1 monitor hdmi to hdmi and another mini dp to hdmi would I have two separate outputs or have one cloned screen output

So I was looking to have 2 separate outputs like a dual screen setup but my device has 1 hdmi and 1 mini dp and didn't know if this would work

I think the question was did you want the same image on both displays or separate images. This is controlled through your graphics card control panel. Once both displays are connected to the graphics card, open the control panel and you should find a setting or option for setting up multi-displays. The same image on both displays is the "Cloned" setting while different displays on each monitor would be the "Extended" setting.
