Hello, I currently have a external monitor, setup with my gaming laptop. I now am looking to buy a hdmi splitter and a new monitor so that I can have two external monitors and just leave my laptop powering them on the side. Would any hdmi splitter work for this job? I was looking on amazon and I didn't want to buy something that wouldn't work. Any advice on what type of splitter to buy would be great, as I don't want to connect both screens and run into a issue with neither of them running.

EDIT:

For example whats the difference between these two splitters, one which required a power source and one that doesn't.

Also I'm not sure if it's against the rules to link a product, I apologize if it is.
