I am looking into getting dual monitors for a system that I am building.. It will be used, primarily, for gaming..

My question is whether or not I can have a Widescreen Monitor as well as a Standard monitor at the same time..

The monitors that I am considering are:

Widescreen:
ASUS VS Series VS247H-P Black 23.6" 2ms LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 50000000:1 (ASCR)

Standard:
ASUS VE248H 24-Inch LED Monitor

GPU (not for sure, still debating):
EVGA 025-P3-1579-AR GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) HD 2560MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Will I experience any issues with this set up? One of the core reasons why I would like this set up is that I know that some games do not support widescreen formats (although I know there is a website that can help correct that in many cases). Would I be better off going dual widescreen, dual standard, or is the mix okay? Any insight on this topic would be great!

Thanks!

The ASUS VE248H 24-Inch LED Monitor is slightly bigger than the ASUS VS Series VS247H-P (23.6 inch).

Other than that they are very comparable. I'd probably go with the VS247H-P, it looks like a slightly newer design, and with that $25 promo code would be quite a bit cheaper.
Both the monitors you listed are widescreen. People pretty much consider widescreen to be the standard these days. I wouldn't worry about it too much just get something that supports 1920x1080 (otherwise known as 1080p) and everything will support you.

When and if you choose to play older games you may wish to use a scaling mode that keeps the correct aspect ratio (it will add black bars).

You're better off with one good monitor then trying to switch between two cheaper ones.
