Does the 8400 GS have dual head capability? It has a DVI, HDMI, and S-Video port. Nothing else. I am not sure if it is Single or Dual link DVI. I am guessing it is single link, since a DVI splitter didn't work.

I have two LCD monitors with VGA and DVI ports, no HDMI, and I would like to get them working with this card. If the card is single link, then the splitter is useless, since it's one source anyway. It will just clone the display. I might be able to use a HDMI to DVI converter and plug one monitor into the DVI port and the other into the converter to the HDMI port. Will this work?

I have a 8400 GS with 512 MB ram connected to two Monitirs one is standard VGa Adapter and the other is connected to DVI port using a DVI with DVI to VGA converter Have no problems and works great

There is a discussion of connecting Dual Monitors (one to VGA and another monitor to DVI) with the Windows Extended Desktop under the GEForce 8300 thread. The GEForce 8400 is similar to the GEForce 8300 GS with the addition of the HDTV output, the connections for Dual Monitor support should apply:
