Dual msi 980 ti or asus strix 1080

Found a good deal for a second msi 980 ti ($300) should i get it and sli or should i upgrade to the 1080 and build a new pc and give my wife my old rig.

I have a rog swift monitor. I7 6700 cpu, msi g7 mobo, msi 980ti, corsair vengeance 8x2 memory, corsair h110 liquid cpu cooler, Samsung pro 250gb ssd, 2tb Seagate sshd, cooler master pro 5 case, corsair 750hi power shop.

What games do you mainly play? Since your display is 1440p / 144 or 165 HZ, the biggest determinant is if these games have good SLI scaling or even support SLI at all. If not, then I'd suggest waiting until later in the year for the 1080 Ti to be released, which is what I plan on doing. Please don't forget to name the games, which I presume you play on ultra settings.
