I'm really happy today. My intellimouse broke, so I asked for a new mouse, but since they ran out, I would be shipped an optical, free of charge. Well guess what I got!- a dual optical Logitech- how sweet is that?! This thing rocks. It totally blows away the other mice I've tried, and that piece of metal in it makes it the perfect weight. I love my new mouse.

Only if you let me see the Umpa Lumpa- Homer Simpson.

I think that piece of metal is just to make it feel better, not to try and make it feel "more expensive".

Glad you like it, I've heard horror stories of dead mice, but it looks like they've worked through that.

I know exactly what you mean. I gave up trying to troubleshoot USB and battery issues with the older cordless Logitech optical mice, and went with the dual-optical, cord or no cord. Finally ... a truly accurate optical mouse, and it really is the perfect weight. Beyond a doubt, the best mouse ever from Logitech. I liked it so much, I bought several ... one more for my second system, and the rest as gifts.
