Dual & Quad Channel Configuration?

I am aware this kind of fits under the memory category, but It's more a mobo question. IF I were to purchase this motherboard: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-x99sgaming9ack for what ever reason, how would I run memory in dual or quad channel config given that the DIMM slots aren't colour coded? It's something that has bugged me about MSI boards for a while.

The motherboard manual will tell you which memory slots are what.

I can tell you without even looking that if it has 4 slots, obviously each slot is a separate channel. If it has 8 memory slots, every 4th slot is part of the same channel.
