dual/quad rram for asus z170 pro gaming

1. i know z170 board supports dual channel but some say its still ok to go on a quad ram on a z170 board.
2. if i went for a 2x4(8gb) dual channel ram can i also go for another 2x4(8gb) dual channel ram to make the 4 slots full in my mobo?

Yes it's fine to use all 4 slots. It's will still run in dual channel. It's always best to buy the same RAM as you already had instead of mix matching different sets.
