So i have one computer screen that i currently have setup that i use for work and gaming. This screen is incredibly small however. my plan is to run a much bigger screen to my PC and basically "Mirror" the primary screen. Since my computer will be basically be running two screens (of the same thing) how be of a performance hit will i see? would it be better to just set it as a completely different screen instead of a mirror?

Solution
If you're simply mirroring the same resolution screen, the size does not matter.
The performance hit for mirroring your screen is essentially insignificant.

It would be a much better idea to extend the display instead of mirroring, which will provide additional screen estate even if the monitors are of different size. For gaming however I would make sure they run on the largest monitor, and not extended across both screens, this is by default what games will run as.
