hello everyone!

i just got a lenovo D30 the other day and one question i had was that i'm noticing that it seems like only one of the CPU's is being very active during low activity situations. i'm not really doing anything resource intensive on the D30 right now, but when i look at coretemp and task manager, it looks like one of the processors is doing alow (enough to get about low 70C) and the other is just chilling (around mid 40C).

Windows 10 Pro

Solution
This is normal when using a client OS (Windows PRO) on a server machine. The OS will use each processor based on need: When processor #0 is on full load then #1 will start getting some load too.
If you want to use both of them on the same time you need to install a Server OS first (esx is the best) and run Windows 10 on a virtual machine using 32 threads and all of the memory.
Hope this helps.

thanks for your response, Andrei!

I think I'm just concerned if the heat the CPU's are reaching are normal for xeons.

Also, would any LGA 2011 cooler work for the xeon e5-2670 v1's? i'd really just love to get the temperatures brought down, if possible.
