dualboot on laptop

what is and acceptable minimal space for dual boot to still have a bit of room for app?


i have dell 830 . I consider it slow pc. only 3g ram old and poor processor.

i d like to try linux on it see the difference.

It has 290 gb hdd.

is it enough for win 7 and mint?
win 10 and mint?

You can try Mint on 20gb partition, plus 3-5gb swap.

Well... If you live close to a river, or swamp - yes, there will be bugs.

Your Dell is quite old, don't jump on fancy Linux distro, or you'll be disappointed. Search this forum for "Lightweight Linux for old laptop"
