Hello everyone,

So the situation is that I have:
-1x 256GB SSD with Win10+Basic Files
-1x 1TB HDD with 600GB o fused data. Mainly used for backups and storing games.

Now what i want to do is dualboot the OSes mentioned in the title, if possible install the Win7 on the HDD, however I still need the hdd for backup (storing big games.) So I want to still be able to use the hdd for game storage when using my ssd for win10.

Is there any way I can install win7 on the hdd without losing the data on it and without losing the ability to access it when Im on Win10?

Thank you for any help

Solution
create a partition on the hdd for win 7 to install to. this leaves a 3rd separate data drive for both os's to access.

if you remove the ssd before installing win 7, then you will have to select which os to boot to from the boot menu at start up. if you leave the ssd in and install win 7 to the hdd then it will set up the dual boot menu from within windows and let you chose that way. either way works and neither is any better than the other but there are options.

but you do want win 7 on a totally separate partition from the data. if something goes wrong, then you won't lose any of it and would only have to reinstall win 7 again. don't worry about win 10 effecting win 7 or vice versa. neither knows the other is there and only the one...

No you dont need to Wipe it like if you have 100GB of partition and 20GB of data in it when installing just dont click on format just simply install it it will install it and you can access your data too under that partition
