Hi, i've searched about everywhere but i can't find any useful information anywhere.

Yesterday i had a malfunctioning usb cable so i decided to try another cable and the controller just stopped working in front ports.
I've tried multiple usb cables, i've used the exact same controller in the PS3 and it works just fine, i've also tried connection another controller and other devices to my front ports and it worked aswell.

The controller works just fine in back ports, but unfortunately i can't play with my computer backwards due to my desk being fairly small.

This is the devices name displayed in Device Manager:
Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

I've tried unnistalling or disabling and activating the device via Device manager and none of them work, i've also tried running the Hardware troubleshooter provided by Windows.

Is there anything else i can do or should i just buy a bigger usb cable so i can use the back ports?

Thank you!

Try a usb extension cable between the problem controller and the front ports. See if that makes a difference.

My thought is that the existing controller plug may be "worn" or a little distorted and no longer making a good fit/connection with the front port(s). Works well with the back ports and other devices continue to work well with the front port.

And, just for the sake of elimination, open the case and check the internal USB connections to the front panel ports. Might be something loose there.
