hi, i'm wanting to install linux into my system the problem is i have 2 partitions, both having windows 7 but the one im wanting to replace is on the active partition so all of my boot files are on it so is there away to solve this or am i going to have to completely backup my data and re install the windows i want.

p.s. the active partition is 32 bit(D:) and im only using the 64 bit(C:)

well thats what im wanting to do,but the fact my active partition has 32bit win7 and my current used partition is using 64bit win7 makes it more complicated, right? i guess what im trying to figure out is how do i keep all of my current data and boot manager files save while moving 64bit window to the active partition and using the second as linux.

Ubuntu, and the reason im cuncern is that all windows boot manager files are on the active partition and can't be change to my knowledge, what i'm saying is even tho this window is in a separate partition the the boot sequence starts on the d drive from the 32 bit windows
