Dumb IE 5.0 Question???

U know how some websites pop up new windows when u go to them.
Then when u close one window five more windows pop up.
Especially warez sites, This drives me nuts.
How do I stop this?

I don’t think any of those sites care and all I think it would accomplish is my E-mail address on more spam lists.
There has to be some way to make IE only open a window on the link u click on.

I don’t think you understand. This in written in the page's code to open instance of IE on exit the page or whatever.
That is why you have no control over it. It is "illegal" for anybody to take control of somebody's machine, but they do it, cos they want to "advertise" and there is no way you will see their site, other then connect yer IE to those "sites" without yer "permitting" (clicking on link).

Well that blows.
Is there any other browsers (IE netscape) that u can turn this feature off.
I also saw a program called "ads off" I think that was supposed to stop windows form popping up.
Anyone else here of it?

You can try Netscape Navigator and Under Edit>Preferences>Advanced
Toggle off Javascript and u will not get those pop-up ads

Never mind, I just found a program called "Popup killer" V1.8, and it seems to work pretty good.
Let me know what u guys think about it.

you need to disable scripting in ie, here is a good discription of how to do so

Popup Killer is a pretty good program, and there are also many others out there that will do the same.
