Dumb Question - Small PCI-E (wifi card) in a full PCI-e slot?

I'd like to put my wifi card (which has a small pci express input) into one my pci-express slots (typically used for a second graphics card). Does this work? It just works better for the spacing.

Yes, that will work. As Wikipedia puts it:

A PCIe card physically fits (and works correctly) in any slot that is at least as large as it is (e.g., an ×1 sized card will work in any sized slot);
