would looser memory timings require less voltage on the cpu for stability?

thinking about it I'd say no, the cpu is independent of the ram.

Just curious. priming right now at 295x9 with 1.65vcore 2.8vdimm 3000+ winnie.

trying to figure a way to keep the temps low (50c loaded 32c ambient).

I know the answer is to get a real watercooling setup (in the works)

Umm doubt it, it's ture the memory controller is in the CPU, theoretically it should lessen the load on the CPU's memory controller, but i doubt if it'll actually affect your frequency.

yeah... I actually considered that about 2 days ago.

got my bonus from the job... but I think I'll do with a decent watercooling setup

I don't tax my computer much more than surfing and playing the occasional game.

computer can't compare to a PS/2 on a 52" HDTV.

yikes... yeah a ps2 on a 52" tv beats any computer gamer anyday.

still like the tweaking part of computers though... actually gonna attempt my first homemade lexan case here in the next 2 weeks... portable watercooling... should be fun.

Mine is technically portable, everything is in one piece, but when I moved it from 1 table to the other, it required two people. So I can't really imagine carrying this thing anywhere.

yeah man, I'm talking like 10lbs tops... gonna be fun. Need to buy a nice 19" LCD and complete the portable part.

Not at all.... Loosening the timmings just allow higher frequencies without f-ing up.
