Dungeon Siege 2 Errors

Hello all, I recently purchased Dungeon Siege 2 through Steam, it being one of the games that originally really got me into pc gaming. Anyways, I downloaded it the other night and went to play it this afternoon. It launched fine, got all the way through character creation, the intro videos and cutscenes, but before I actually get to play anything, the screen goes black and an error noise sounds. I end up with a pop-up that says something like "video initialization failure create edevice direct x error code 0x88760868 ", and then another pop-up saying the game must be closed. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, FX-6300 six-core processor, 2 7870s in crossfire, and 8 gigs of ram. What could be causing this/how could I fix it? Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry everyone, it was a stupid error. I thought I had disabled crossfire but hadn't. Its working great now.

Actually it isn't working that great again. Crossfire is still disabled, but it is acting up again. Please help!
