Duplicate screen with 120 Hz monitor and 60 Hz TV

Hello everyone. I have a 120 Hz monitor connected to displayport and 60 Hz TV connected to an Hdmi port of my graphic card. When I want to play games I plug in my controller, duplicate the screen, turn off the monitor and walk around the corner to my TV. So far so good. I am just curios that windows and even game options select 120 Hz as a refresh rate even if my TV only supports 60 Hz. As far as I understand my TV receives 120 Hz signals then. Is this an issue regarding picture quality or performance? Should I set 60 Hz instead if I duplicate my screens? Regards

if the monitor can't support it, it can't support it, move it back to 60hz

Hi effeble. No there is no visible issue for me, both screens do have a signal at the same time in 120 Hz mode.
