duplicate steam product key used games

is buying a used PC game with a steam product key a complete waste of money. as the game wont install without it an unused product key. So confused, why sell these in disc form at all if they cant be resold, its a fucking video game not a lifelong investment.

So you bought a CD/DVD with a Steam key and it says it's in use or "duplicated" is most likely that someone just went around the store wrote down the key activated it and boom, free game 😀

But if you're planning to buy a CD/DVD that has a Steam key attached to it and is an used CD/DVD, then don't buy it at all, unles they are giving you the Steam account with it

You have to have an unused Steam key to activate the game. There's no way to activate one that's already be used. The only way around it that I know of is if youre lucky enough to find a crack/patch that circumvents steam activation. Which I believe are illegal. But they exist for some games.
