I tried building a new machine with an M.2 card, Ubuntu, and Windows 7.
Bad idea, had lots of problems so I tried it step-at-a-time so now I have a fine Ubuntu machine running from the M.2 drive. It's pretty fast.
I'd like to add another SSD for Windows but can't: Going to the UEFI settings for storage devices shows the real Windows drive, the real M.2,drive and seven phantom entries that say "Ubuntu 256"... and the USB stick i'd like to use to rebuild GRUB isn't shown.
Go EFI! Real men don't need a simple unchanging list of devices like BIOS used to do.
Anybody know how to defeat EFI and just get a working machine with two drives li
ke back in the day?? I don't want to go back to legacy if I can avoid it since both drives are GPT.
