DURON 650 to 900

Hi all

A funny thing happened to me while overclocking a DURON650

Raising voltage to 1,8V the cpu hits 900Mhz without a glitch but there's something strange.

I can cold-boot the computer only with frequencies up to 800Mhz. With 850 and 900, powering up the computer doesn't make it post. The fans start, the usual beep sounds and then, nothing happens. I have to wait a few seconds, then, pressing the "Reset" button, makes the system boot.

If i start at 800 and then rebbot to Bios and change multiplier to 9x, the system starts OK.

System specs,

Board: MSI K7T Pro2
PSU: AOPEN 250W
Hard Disk: IBM 30G 7200rpm
Memory: 1x128M + 1x64M
Graphics: AGP Riva TNT
Sound: On board AC97
Modem: Diamond PCI V90
Other PCI: Firewire (Conceptronics)
CDRW Yamaha 8x8x24 (IDE)
No CD reader right now

I've tryed another (AOPEN 250W) PSU and the system could not start at all at 900Mhz. So i thougt "It's the PSU; not strong enough". However at AMD's site, you can see that most 250W PSU's work with ATHLON 1000Mhz!

Any ideas?

Thank's

I had a similar problem with the asus a7v mainboard, I solved it by using the jumpers on the board to set the voltage instead of the bios. I seems the bios is unreliable in setting the correct voltage. hope that helps.

I have seen many cases where changing the voltage in the bios has not been reliable. If you want to go higher, you should consider getting a different board.
Just my opinion.

a 330W powersupply,
3.9V IO voltages and 1.85V CPU voltage
try those..........
i got my 650 running at 027 with those
